FERRIS & MILNES: BRAND NEW SHOW

70 IN 70 … AND A SWELL PARTY!

When Ferris & Milnes were booked to return to The Pheasantry they planned to host a 70 minute Swell Party of music and comedy covering seven decades of showstoppers! But when their producers took the idea of 70 years of music in 70 minutes literally, the clock began to tick and the challenge was set… Can Dominic and Martin live up to their producers’ expectations? After all, Ferris & Milnes couldn’t possibly get through 70 years of music in 70 minutes in Act One, and then still give us a swell party in Act Two … or could they?

JULY 2nd and JULY 3rd

Dominic Ferris and Martin Milnes are a unique combination. Dominic is a pianist extraordinaire, regularly showcasing his skills touring the world as one half of The Piano Brothers – his Steinway & Sons accredited piano duo. Martin has ‘two voices’ – excelling as both a tenor and in his acclaimed falsetto register, having diversely crossed the musical worlds between West End and opera.

Summer Glamour at Brownings Manor!

A wonderful evening was had by all on Saturday 22nd July when Friends of Sussex Hospices raised in excess of £60,000 at Brownings Manor in Blackboys. FSH is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers, and raises funds through a variety of activities to support the running costs of the twelve hospice care providers that serve the adults and children of Sussex.

One of the highlights of FSH’s calendar is the annual summer concert, which this year was held in the grounds of beautiful Brownings Manor. We were delighted to provide a two-act show for the evening’s entertainment, with the inimitable Aled Jones at the helm as Master of Ceremonies. The glittering audience was dazzlingly generous throughout the FSH charity auction, during which Tim Wonnacott found wonderful new homes for the many fabulous prizes.

Musical madness at West End LIVE!

How do you follow a mash-up medley celebrating 31 West End Musicals In Under 10 Minutes?? How about an updated medley celebrating 31 Musicals In Under 7??

This was the challenge we set ourselves when we returned to West End LIVE in Trafalgar Square. Since we performed their last year, many musicals have sadly closed (Gypsy, Miss Saigon, In The Heights, Sunset Boulevard …) only to be replaced by exciting new ones (An American In Paris, 42nd Street, On The Town, Annie …), and the expert musical theatre audience appeared to be lyric-perfect all the way through, no matter how thick and fast we threw new numbers at them!

Ferris & Milnes: Live At The Pheasantry

On April 1st 2015 Ferris & Milnes performed their debut show What A Swell Party This Is! … and what a delight it was to return to one of our favourite London venues.

We took the opportunity to pay special tribute to one of the masters of 20th Century music – George Gershwin – commemorating the 80th anniversary of his passing, which will fall on July 11th 2017. Our Gershwin offerings included a brand new medley in his honour, plus a new solo for Martin (“Someone To Watch Over Me”) and one of our favourite duets, “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off”.
