Another outing of our March show (Another Op’nin’, Another Show) and one of our best audiences yet … what a night!

When we are putting our productions together we love to explore material which might not have been heard for many years. Indeed, younger generations may not have heard some of the music at all! So when a number like Martin’s falsetto ‘Italian Street Song’ from Naughty Marietta – written in 1910 – goes down a storm with audiences of all ages, it’s always a special treat, especially considering that in our production the operetta showstopper sits alongside the music of Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey and Elton John.

We also took the opportunity to premiere a brand new medley celebrating The Beatles. The word perfect sing-a-long response from the audience confirms that these are all iconic songs which will never die.

It was lovely to see our Battle of Britain friends back, and also to have the support of Olivier Award winning director/choreographer Bill Deamer, who did such a brilliant job ‘putting together’ the Drury Lane Sondheim Gala last year. Thanks also to Game of Thrones star Harry Lloyd who dropped by amidst his busy and exciting schedule.
